Our Moments MAKE Our Lives

Life is about moments. Some moments are wonderful, some are horrible, and the rest of our moments fall somewhere in between.   It is so easy to forget that each Moment we have is precious.  Even the bad moments in our lives are precious, not just because we are alive, Because we Are LIVING.

Living means so much more than just our physical existence.  Countless organisms exist on our planet, they live, grow, and die like we do.   But these organisms don’t derive their identity based on how they internalize and experience the moments which make up their life.

We evolved into beings that are aware of our own individualized needs and desires.  When we stopped “Simply Surviving” we began to question more, seek more, learn more, and enjoy more.  Once we moved past Survival of The Fittest the human race took off.  We are not just alive, we are not simply existing or surviving.

We are compelled to make and be something special. We strive to cultivate as many feel good “moments” as possible. We try to discard and forget moments which are sad, painful, and negative.  Only through experiencing the “so called” bad moments are we able to recognize, appreciate, and TRULY ENJOY the good moments.

I have heard many times that living “in the moment” is exciting, scary, brave, and even reckless. On the other hand living solely in the past, or always living for your future isn’t healthy either.  The best way to be LIVING, REALLY LIVING, is to treasure and respect ALL the Moments we have. The Good, the Bad, and The Ugly moments shape who and what we are.

Each and every moment From Birth to Death will be different, and if we’re smart then we will take what we have learned from our past moments in order to get the most LIVING out of our present moments.

Living in the moment shouldn’t only be about who and what we are today. Living in The Moment should encompass our past, present, and future. Living is made up of Our Moments, Our Moments are snippets of time that are important simply because Our Moments Are Us.

I’m Flying High (In an Airplane)

Today is the day I’ve been waiting for, I’m writing from the sky.  The best part of today, so far is that I am less than an hour away from seeing my Mom.  I haven’t seen her in four months, and that’s the longest I’ve gone without her nearby, in years.

Seeing my mom is just One of my many reasons for excitement.  I am also blessed to be able to spend time with my Best Friend Jason. It’s been just as long since I’ve seen him, and we were practically joined at the hip before I left.

I strive to make Every Day spectacular, like today, but honestly that’s practically impossible. Some days are good, some days are bad, some days are just average that’s why life is so varied. Though today is shaping up to be special, and I am glad to have “special” days to look forward to.

It’s not every day you can look out the window and see the clouds BENEATH you, but it sure is spectacular.  It’s not every day you can reunite with family and friends after a long absence, what you can do Everyday is be grateful!!!

Grateful for your family and friends, grateful for the beautiful things you have seen and experienced, grateful for the things you have and the things coming to you in the future. Gratitude shows love for yourself and the world surrounding you, and living from LOVE is how to truly “LIVE.”

I’m Bubbling Over…and I LOVE IT

Good Morning!!!  Today I am filled with excitement, it’s bubbling out of me like a cauldron of witches brew.  Nerdy Halloween references aside, I really am bubbling over with excitement, happiness, and most of all Gratitude.

In 24 hours I’ll be on a plane back to Sacramento, and for those of you that know me, that’s where I’m from and where most of my family and my best friend live.  I Miss Them All So Much.

My trip is about more than just visiting, I have specific tasks that I need to accomplish.  I have to go through all my belongings and bring more clothing back to Vegas with me for the winter.  I need to pack everything else in boxes for my family to bring to me when they come to visit me in Vegas.

I have to appointments with my school’s financial aid and counseling departments to get my academic record cleared and re-instate my financial aid.  You see I missed more than 3 weeks of school in the spring because I was hospitalized with Pneumonia, so I wasn’t able to complete all the classes I was enrolled in.

School is important to me and I want to keep that option available to me, though I am extremely busy with different writing projects and working with The Elevate Institute.  If you are reading this you know I have a Law of Attraction Newcomers Blog, but I am also working on building a program to help people quit smoking, and working with The Elevate Institute on content, meetings, and member follow up.   http://theelevateinstitute.com/the-seven-keys.html

I am busier than I have been in months, possibly years, and I am learning how to deal with the pressure and experiencing success, pride, and gratitude in the work that I do.  All these pieces come together to bring my happiness, gratitude, and EXCITEMENT to a higher level than normal.  I LOVE IT.

The More You Do, The Easier It Is

Happy Tuesday to All….I want to share how wonderful it feels to contribute.  I am not just talking about contributing money to charity or volunteering, though both of those are important and can bring great feelings.  I am talking about any contribution.  You can contribute to society with positive actions, empathy, kindness, intelligence, and benevolence or you can contribute time and effort to the betterment of yourself.

Today I am contributing my words for the blog I write, I am contributing my time and past experience to researching and writing content for a program aimed at helping people quit smoking.  I am also contributing time to physical exercise, which technically I am contributing to only myself, but with my improved health I will have more to contribute to others.

I feel like I have worth, I have knowledge that others can benefit from, I am not invisible, I am needed.  Worth is a feeling that I will admit sometimes evades me, but every day I build a little more self-worth and contribute a little more “worth” to others.

I have found that the more effort I put towards feeling worthy of myself I automatically feel more worthy in society.  I know that even if I don’t interact with others regularly, the worth I’m building within myself can only result in positivity being put out into The Universe.

Every day I wake up and decide if I am going to put in “the work” to make today better then yesterday.  I admit sometimes I fail, I have experienced days when I have done barely anything, but I have days when I contribute enormous amounts of positive actions and thoughts.  No one is perfect, Every day is a new opportunity to take strides forward.  The More You Do, The Easier It Is.

Don't Deny SADNESS, Grow Through It...

Here I am wallowing in feelings I have just realized are pervasive in my mind.  I feel like I should be able to control the negative thoughts and emotions I am experiencing, but I can’t banish them.  I feel like with the constant work I do to align myself with the Universe it should reward me with certainty, but that isn’t the case.

I have been experiencing doubt, loneliness, and uncertainty.  I have asked the Universe for guidance, but to no avail.  Unfortunately when I don’t have a sure answer I turn to the question, what am I not doing in alignment with the Universe.

I am searching for reassurance from The Universe that I am on the right path, but I am not getting a clear answer.  Is it possible that The Universe can’t do everything for me, maybe I just have to make a decision and see where it takes me?

Is it possible that I am not listening to the Universe and letting outside influences guide me, if so I am not walking my path, but the path others want for me.  I am not asking for a lot, all I want is to be less lonely, less unsure, less stunted.  I want growth, I want companionship, I want to be connected to others, I want to feel secure and have a definite idea of my future (wherever I am).

I am putting my feelings “out there.”  I don’t feel this way most of the time, but occasionally I feel lost and need to be sure I am asking for direction.  I don’t pretend to know everything about my path, but I do know that pretending to have all the answers won’t bring me the security I desire.

Building Blocks for the Future

"Where you now stand is a result of thoughts and feelings that you have offered before, but where you are going is a result of your perspective of where you now stand."    Esther Hicks, best-selling author and motivational speaker.

As I have said before I don’t always quote other writers in my blog, but occasionally it is extremely influential to do so.  Often times we need inspiration, reassurance, and just plain good advice.  This quote from Esther Hicks is just that.

When you are trying to move forward on your path through the Universe it is very easy to become bogged down with your past.  Often times we think we can’t move forward because our past actions and mistakes are holding us back.

What if we were able to just view our past simply as the steps we had to take to get to the present moment.  These past steps are exercise, we can view them as building blocks for our future.  Our past steps can strengthen us for our future.

I understand that adopting a positive view of your past can be difficult, often because we tend to remember the painful parts.  We can often let the pain and disappointment in our past become heavy weights to bear.  When our past becomes a heavy weight, it is so difficult to keep stepping forward.

Just like with exercise, we need to “work” on our emotional muscles.  With each step we take forward, the weight of our past mistakes and pain becomes easier to bear.  With enough work you no longer have to “bear” your past, you can be proud of it.  You can turn your past into positivity if you keep moving forward using it as fuel to make your future brighter.

Change Your Perspective and Change Your Life

This morning I was reading an article about Joshua Bell, who is widely recognized as one of the best violinists in the world.  Joshua sat at a metro station in Washington and played some of Bach’s most famous musical compositions on one of the world’s most expensive violins.

The thing that struck me about this article is that most of the thousand plus people who passed by during this experiment, which lasted less than an hour, well they just walked past.  Only a few people stopped, and no one realized that they were listening to a famous musician.  What stuck out to me was how unaware people can be in regards to their surroundings.

Another striking aspect of this experiment is that I realized how much of life we miss when we are in a hurry.  When I contemplate how much of my own life and how much simple beauty I have missed because I was distracted or in a hurry, it makes me a little sad.

If we learned to slow down and pay attention to our surroundings, the people near us, and the beauty which we forget to notice every day, we could fill our lives with wondrous things.  Personally I often forget to appreciate the little things, and I forget to seek out beauty and happiness.

It seems silly to have to look for these things, it seems that we don’t often realize what we are missing until someone else points it out.  Most people get into a habit of noticing things more often when they coincide with their own thoughts and emotions at the moment.  The problem with operating like this is that it’s difficult to notice positive things when in a negative state of mind.

To change your life you have to change your perspective.  To change you must practice bringing good into your life.  The more good things you focus on in your life, the MORE Good things The Universe will send your way.  If you remain focused on negativity or apathy, that’s just what you’ll get more of.

The first step is simple, but requires constant vigilance and work.  Just work on changing your negative and apathetic thoughts into something positive.  It’s more difficult then it seems, it’s hard work, but it’s guaranteed to change your life if you believe and are willing to continue to work.  Most of our life is simply our perspective, we can change ourselves, our feelings, and our behaviors, and when we do that's when the world around us changes.  Good Luck and Never Give Up

Growing Past Negativity

Tuesday October 16th

I am grateful today, the Universe has given me what I asked for. It was small, but necessary.  I asked to have my sadness and doubts lessened, I have felt some relief from those feelings today.

I have been experiencing negative thoughts and emotions recently and am working on getting past the negative so I can learn from what I’ve been feeling.  It is through reflection that I will grow, by asking the Universe for guidance I know I will transform my thoughts and emotions into positive action.

Having said that I know the negativity I am experiencing is part of my growth, I won’t lie and tell you I’m enjoying it. I wish my negativity could be turned off like a light switch.  From what I have learned about the Law of Attraction and The Universe I know that my negative thoughts and limiting beliefs won’t get my what I desire.

I must grow past seeing only the negative and try to find my Happy, my Desires, and my Path.  I know the Universe can give me everything I want, but I have to persevere and show the Universe and myself that I believe.  Belief is half of being and if I don’t believe I deserve the things I want then I ‘m not ready, I’m not surrendered.

When I surrender the outcome to the Universe and truly believe, that’s when it will happen.  I have belief, but maybe not enough faith.  Either way I need to keep working, keep searching, and keep my eyes and heart open.  When I am ready to receive, it will be given.

It is possible

How many people realize the immense power contained in our most common words. I have found that the word Never has such a great and often destructive power over our lives. Never can ruin our hopes and dreams, it can tell us how to live our lives, and it can ruin our self esteem. I didn’t realize that this one word was holding me back from happiness. As long as the word Never constantly crossed my lips I would Never see my dreams into fruition. Never was one of the most common words in my vocabulary, and it held true in my life. I believed in Never with all my heart, and guess what, I never found my happiness.

Today my constant Never thoughts are in my past, but I must remember to keep an eye out for Never. If I am not vigilant and working with the Universe on my path, Never will slither back into my brain like a serpent. When you say “Never” you are giving it power because you are focusing on it. Now that you are focused on Never having what you want, that is exactly what the Universe is going give you. Concentrating on the “Never” in your life is actually bringing more of that to you.

Reversing your attitude of “Never” is simple but takes practice. Every time you feel that you are Never going to have what you want and need, Stop. Take the thought captive and substitute the Never for something like, ALWAYS. Then you can Always be happy, you can Always be prosperous, you can Always love yourself, and you can ALWAYS have all the things you want and need. Don’t let your negative thoughts overrun your common sense, we all know that you should……Never Say Never.

A Path to our Dreams Comes From Listening

Wow, the Universe never lets up. Do you know the Universe is always talking to us, it’s just waiting for us to listen. The Universe is always offering us a path to our dreams. We must keep our eyes and ears open so the Universe can guide us. An important thing to remember as we walk our path is that it is rarely a straight line. The Universe gives us opportunities to alter our path to fit our needs all the time, whether it be daily or even hourly. Don’t ignore these whispers just because they are coming at you fast, grab hold of your future because it starts today.
Now don’t despair because the Universe isn’t yelling at you about your path daily. If the Universe isn’t yelling at you every day, if your not seeing the signs of your future every hour don’t despair. Remember the Universe doesn’t care about YOUR TIMEFRAME, it’ll will give you what you want and need at the opportune moment. The Universe can see where you are going long before you can. Most Importantly is to have the BELIEF that what you want and need WILL COME. The Universe will respond to your Belief, never give up, never stop believing, and the Universe WILL manifest a wonderful existence.

Working for Change

Wednesday October 3, 2012
Change has become one of my favorite words. Just a year ago I was afraid of change, yet I had intense desire to have changes in my life. I realize that I wanted a different life, but didn’t want to do the work required to make those changes possible.
I wanted a positive change in my finances, I wanted positive changes in my personal relationships, and I wanted to change in how I felt inside. I felt that life was unfair because the changes I desired weren’t happening for me. The thing I realize today is that I wanted change, without working for it.
Change that you don’t put any effort towards isn’t that valuable. If we get everything we want then we forget to be appreciative, even moreso we forget to put in the work. Of course I believe good things can just happen, but to ensure positive events in our lives we have to work.
It’s not just regular employment that I am referring to. It is important to work in order to be able to financially support ourselves and our families. Though we must work towards other things, things like positive relationships with others, a positive emotional state, and positive dreams and life plans.
When we know what we want and are willing to put in the physical and mental work in order to accomplish it, that is when we are working with “The Universe” instead of against it. When we are clear on the changes we desire in our lives, then the Universe can guide us towards the path which will manifest those changes.
Do you know what changes you need to make to accomplish your goals? Are you willing to put in the work needed to enact change in your life? Do you realize that positive and negative change is part of life, and how we deal with those changes is what shapes our lives?

Commit to Fit

Tuesday October 2nd 2012

I have been thinking about change a lot lately.  It’s not massive change that has been on my mind lately, more like daily changes.  The kind of changes you don’t always even know you are making until you wake up one day and feel different.

The change I am noticing in myself is in my fitness.  I have often made small changes in accordance with my desire to change my health and body size.  The difference this time is my commitment.  I don’t have to MAKE myself exercise and be more aware of what I eat, I want to.

It’s my increased desire for change that makes the commitment so much easier.  One of the greatest things about The Universe is that once you step out in faith your path becomes clearer.  I can envision myself in a year, and I like what I see.  I am healthy, happy, and in great physical shape.  This is how I will manifest my life, one step at a time.

I am thankful for my life today.  I am thankful for what my life will look like in the future.  I operate from an attitude of gratitude, and that is how I will manifest my life.  There is no room for negativity, because that takes up valuable space in my plan for an awesome life.  What negativity can you get rid of to make space for your Awesome Life?

Fear is Instinctive, Not Predictive

FEAR, what a scary word.  Did you know that fear is an evolutionary trait and that most intelligent species (including humans) have used fear to evolve.  Fear is an instinct that has been developed to protect us.  I know that fear is important, but that it is also a most destructive trait.  Don’t Fear too much, I think that’s the real lesson I want to impart.

When we let our natural of instincts of fear override our lives and thoughts, we will never truly live.  If fear runs our lives we can NEVER experience what the Universe has in store for us.  If we turn tail and run away every time we are fearful, that will become our norm.  Every new experience would be wrought with anxiety for fear of how it will turn out.  This Fear would in turn rule our lives and prevent happiness and light from entering our souls.

The trick is to find out which fears are necessary and which fears need to be examined and thrown away.  Try thinking of our fears as instinct, not reaction.  We all know that humans have instincts that are good and bad. But society has taught us how to control and use our instincts to better ourselves and those around us.  For instance, our instinct when we are hungry is to eat.  But to fit into our society we don’t just walk up to another person and take their food, simply because we are hungry. (that’s something Cavemen did, right)  So why can we control our “hunger” instincts but believe we can’t control our fear.  We Can Control and Use our Fears to Grow.

It’s a slow process but to grow you must acknowledge your fears and shed the belief that everything bad you fear will happen to you.  If you can’t shed your fear and negative belief, it could be exactly where you are heading.  The Universe gives you what you concentrate on most, it doesn’t judge if you think its good or bad.  Try to take your fear captive and turn it into something positive, something beautiful, or just dismiss it altogether.  The less fear you have in your heart, the more room you have for happiness and love to grow in your heart.
