Building Blocks for the Future

"Where you now stand is a result of thoughts and feelings that you have offered before, but where you are going is a result of your perspective of where you now stand."    Esther Hicks, best-selling author and motivational speaker.

As I have said before I don’t always quote other writers in my blog, but occasionally it is extremely influential to do so.  Often times we need inspiration, reassurance, and just plain good advice.  This quote from Esther Hicks is just that.

When you are trying to move forward on your path through the Universe it is very easy to become bogged down with your past.  Often times we think we can’t move forward because our past actions and mistakes are holding us back.

What if we were able to just view our past simply as the steps we had to take to get to the present moment.  These past steps are exercise, we can view them as building blocks for our future.  Our past steps can strengthen us for our future.

I understand that adopting a positive view of your past can be difficult, often because we tend to remember the painful parts.  We can often let the pain and disappointment in our past become heavy weights to bear.  When our past becomes a heavy weight, it is so difficult to keep stepping forward.

Just like with exercise, we need to “work” on our emotional muscles.  With each step we take forward, the weight of our past mistakes and pain becomes easier to bear.  With enough work you no longer have to “bear” your past, you can be proud of it.  You can turn your past into positivity if you keep moving forward using it as fuel to make your future brighter.

To The Universe
