Change Your Perspective and Change Your Life

This morning I was reading an article about Joshua Bell, who is widely recognized as one of the best violinists in the world.  Joshua sat at a metro station in Washington and played some of Bach’s most famous musical compositions on one of the world’s most expensive violins.

The thing that struck me about this article is that most of the thousand plus people who passed by during this experiment, which lasted less than an hour, well they just walked past.  Only a few people stopped, and no one realized that they were listening to a famous musician.  What stuck out to me was how unaware people can be in regards to their surroundings.

Another striking aspect of this experiment is that I realized how much of life we miss when we are in a hurry.  When I contemplate how much of my own life and how much simple beauty I have missed because I was distracted or in a hurry, it makes me a little sad.

If we learned to slow down and pay attention to our surroundings, the people near us, and the beauty which we forget to notice every day, we could fill our lives with wondrous things.  Personally I often forget to appreciate the little things, and I forget to seek out beauty and happiness.

It seems silly to have to look for these things, it seems that we don’t often realize what we are missing until someone else points it out.  Most people get into a habit of noticing things more often when they coincide with their own thoughts and emotions at the moment.  The problem with operating like this is that it’s difficult to notice positive things when in a negative state of mind.

To change your life you have to change your perspective.  To change you must practice bringing good into your life.  The more good things you focus on in your life, the MORE Good things The Universe will send your way.  If you remain focused on negativity or apathy, that’s just what you’ll get more of.

The first step is simple, but requires constant vigilance and work.  Just work on changing your negative and apathetic thoughts into something positive.  It’s more difficult then it seems, it’s hard work, but it’s guaranteed to change your life if you believe and are willing to continue to work.  Most of our life is simply our perspective, we can change ourselves, our feelings, and our behaviors, and when we do that's when the world around us changes.  Good Luck and Never Give Up

To The Universe
